Gallant Technologies uses state-of-the-art instrumentation to achieve the highest selectivity and sensitivity in our results.
With SPME, Headspace, Thermal Desorption, and SBSE sampling methods, our GC/MS analyses can be optimized to meet our clients’ needs across a wide range of applications.
What are GC/MS and GC/MS/MS?
Gas Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)
Gallant Technologies uses a Triple Quadrupole Thermoscientific TSQ 8000 Mass Spectrometer attached to a Trace 1310 Gas Chromatogram and Gerstel Multipurpose Robotic arm.
GC/MS represents a combination of two powerful analytical techniques: GC, which acts as a separation technique, and MS, which acts as a detection technique. Complex mixtures of individual compounds can be injected into the GC, either manually or by an autosampler, and then separated for presentation to the MS.
The MS will generate a mass spectrum of the GC eluate and its components. The mass spectrum can then be used for qualitative identification as well as accurate and precise quantification of the individual compounds present in the sample
Single Quadrupole
A single-quadrupole GC/MS system provides speed and simplicity of operations and method development with powerful qualitative (full scan, library search) and quantitative (SIM) data
Triple Quadrupole
A triple-quadrupole GC/MS/MS system provides the extra selectivity required for trace analysis of compounds in complex matrices.
Recent Applications
Recent work at Gallant Technologies has included a variety of studies and sample types. Recent work has examined quality indicators in food and Hemp Oil, off-gassing volatile organic compound (VOC) analyses of commercial gasket materials, to analysis of explosives in commercial canine training aid.
